Joe Towers

ABOUT JOE

Mr. Towers has over thirty-five years’ experience in the fire services industry. He is qualified to the highest level of Fire Investigator/Inspector with the Safety Codes Council of Alberta.

Mr. Towers is a certified Fire Investigator (Proboard), Certified Evidence Photographer, and a member of the International Association of Arson Investigators, Fire Investigation Association of Alberta, National Association of Fire Investigators, National Fire Protection Association, and the Evidence Photographers International Council.

Mr. Towers has had the privilege of being accepted as an expert witness in the Provincial Court of Alberta and Court of Queen’s Bench in both Alberta and Saskatchewan. A recent expert report was accepted without challenge in a homicide trial in the Court of Kings Bench.

Mike is a Fire and Explosion Investigator with Global Forensics Inc.  Mike represents the Calgary and Southern Alberta area.

Mike retired after 32 years service with the City of Calgary Fire Department, including the position of Coordinator with the Fire Investigation Bureau.

He has extensive experience in regards to fire & explosion investigations, fire inspections, and interviewing techniques.

Dale is a Fire and Explosion Investigator with Global Forensics Inc.  Dale represents the Northern Area based out of Strathcona County.

In 2016, following 35 years’ service, 20 years as a Firefighter/Paramedic and the last 15 years as Fire Marshal, Dale retired and entered the private fire investigator industry.

Dale has extensive experience in both investigations and inspections and is certified to the highest level of Safety Codes Officer in the fire discipline.

Dale holds many accolades and achievement recognition and is enthusiastically pursuing his passion in fire prevention and investigations.

Dave Hughes

ABOUT DAVE

Dave is a Fire and Explosion Investigator with Global Forensics Inc.  Dave represents British Columbia and is based out of that area.

Previous to joining Global Forensics, Mr. Hughes was a Shift Fire Investigator with the Calgary Fire Department. He began his Calgary Fire Department career as a firefighter and then as a Fire Inspector before joining the Investigation Bureau.

Dave has investigated approximately 500 fires including structural, vehicle, mechanical and criminal incidents

Before the Calgary Fire Department, Dave was with the Canadian Armed Forces and retired as a Search and Rescue Technician from the RCAF elite Search and Rescue team.

ABOUT FRANKLIN

Franklin is a Fire and Explosion Investigator with Global Forensics Inc. Franklin represents the Calgary and Southern Alberta area.

Franklin joined the Edmonton Fire Department’s Fire Investigation Bureau in 2004 and became a Captain Investigator in 2008. He then attained the rank of Senior Captain Investigator in 2013 and remained in that position until his retirement in 2018.

Franklin retired from the Edmonton Fire Department after 30 years of service.

Stan Froese

ABOUT STAN

Stan is a Fire and Explosion Investigator with Global Forensics Inc. Stan represents the Calgary and Southern Alberta area.

Stan joined the Calgary Fire Department’s in 2011 gaining valuable experience in emergency services including fire suppression, confined space rescue, structural collapse and hazardous materials. He later joined the Calgary Fire Inspection and Investigation Division in 2018. Stan conducted 374 origin and cause investigations that included residential and commercial structures and fire fatalities.

Stan retired from the Calgary Fire Department in 2024 and continues to apply his skills with Global Forensics Inc.

Rick is a Fire and Explosion Investigator with Global Forensics Inc. Rick represents the Northern and Western areas of Alberta.

Rick began his fire service career in 1987 with Grande Prairie Fire Department as a Firefighter making the rank of Officer Qualified. In 2007, Rick joined the Fire Prevention Bureau as a fully qualified Safety Codes Officer (Fire).
