Mike retired after 32 years service with the City of Calgary Fire Department, including the position of Coordinator with the Fire Investigation Bureau.

Dale is a Fire and Explosion Investigator with Global Forensics Inc. Dale represents the Northern Area based out of Strathcona County.
In 2016, following 35 years’ service, 20 years as a Firefighter/Paramedic and the last 15 years as Fire Marshal, Dale retired and entered the private fire investigator industry.
Dale has extensive experience in both investigations and inspections and is certified to the highest level of Safety Codes Officer in the fire discipline.
Dale holds many accolades and achievement recognition and is enthusiastically pursuing his passion in fire prevention and investigations.

ABOUT JEFF
Jeff retired after 35 years service with the Red Deer Fire Department as a Platoon Chief. He managed 35 firefighters and was a required Incident Manager at all major scenes.
Jeff was tasked with implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) including the Incident Command System, Fire Ground Operations, and Aerial Apparatus Operations.
He has been training dogs since 1975 and has been an active member of the Canadian Kennel Club for over 30 years.

Dave is a Fire and Explosion Investigator with Global Forensics Inc.
Previous to joining Global Forensics, Mr. Hughes was a Shift Fire Investigator with the Calgary Fire Department. He began his Calgary Fire Department career as a firefighter and then as a Fire Inspector before joining the Investigation Bureau.
Dave has investigated approximately 500 fires including structural, vehicle, mechanical and criminal incidents
Before the Calgary Fire Department, Dave was with the Canadian Armed Forces and retired as a Search and Rescue Technician from the RCAF elite Search and Rescue team.

Franklin is a Fire and Explosion Investigator with Global Forensics Inc.
Franklin joined the Edmonton Fire Department’s Fire Investigation Bureau in 2004 and became a Captain Investigator in 2008. He then attained the rank of Senior Captain Investigator in 2013 and remained in that position until his retirement in 2018.
Franklin retired from the Edmonton Fire Department after 30 years of service.

Leigh is a Fire Investigator and Inspector with Global Forensics Inc.
Leigh began his fire service career with the Department of National Defence in 1999. He then joined the City of Winnipeg Fire Department in 2002 as a Firefighter/Paramedic.
After gaining valuable experience in Winnipeg, Mr. Sawicki became the Director of Protective Service in Wetaskiwin Alberta which included the position as Fire Chief in 2013.
Leigh has extensive experience in the budget process and along with his administrative duties, he instructed fire service courses.

James began his fire service career in 1994 as Firefighter/EMT. He joined the Grande Prairie Fire Department in 1999 as a Firefighter/Safety Codes Officer (Fire). In 2007 he was promoted as a Fire Prevention Officer within the fire prevention branch.
James served as the Fire Marshal for Grande Prairie, AB. from 2011 to 2021 and is currently the Deputy Chief of Fire Prevention and Public Education for the Fire Department in the City of Airdrie.

Kelsey began his fire service career with the Ponoka Alberta Fire Department in 1990. As a Firefighter and Fire Officer, Kelsey attended multiple fire scenes including vehicle, machinery, structures (both commercial and residential), as well as numerous fire investigations.

Clare is a Fire Investigator and Inspector with Global Forensics Inc. based out of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
Clare started his fire service career in 1987 with the Thompson Manitoba Fire Department. In 2001, he became an Inspector Investigator with the Saskatoon Saskatchewan Fire Service and conducted numerous fire investigations.
In 2008, he joined the Cameco Corporation as a safety coordinator and was responsible among other duties, as an accident investigator.

Craig is a Fire and Explosion Investigator with Global Forensics Inc. based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
Craig began his career with the City of Yorkton Fire Department in 1983 as a firefighter attaining the rank of Acting Lieutenant. In 2002 Craig accepted a position with the City of Saskatoon Fire Department as a Fire Investigator/ Fire Inspector. During his time in Saskatoon Craig has conducted over 650 fire investigations ranging from structural, transportation and farm equipment fires.
Craig has been qualified as an expert witness with respect to Fire Cause and Origin in Provincial and Court of Queen’s Bench Courts within Saskatchewan. Keith Janes

ABOUT KEITH
Keith is a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator, as well as a Certified Polygraph Examiner. He is a retired Staff Sergeant with the RCMP.
Mr. Janes joined the RCMP in 1986 after graduating from Memorial University of Newfoundland with a B.A. Degree. In 1990, he trained in the field of covert operations and in 1991 was transferred to the Regina Drug Enforcement Section. His duties included mid to high level investigations on illegal drug traffickers.
In 1994, Mr. Janes was posted to the integrated proceeds of crime unit. On this unit, he was responsible for high-level national and international money laundering investigations. In 1998, Mr. Janes was promoted to Corporal, followed by a promotion to Sergeant in 1999. He trained as a polygraph examiner as well as successfully completing a number of courses in the areas of interview and interrogation techniques, statement analysis and hand writing analysis. Mr. Janes was very successful in this area and obtained many confessions.
In 2003, Mr. Janes was promoted to Staff Sergeant in charge on Red Deer City RCMP General Investigation Section. Upon retirement, he was responsible for the overall management and investigational operations of 30 regular members of the RCMP and two support staff. He directed and participated in the investigation on all serious / major crime incidents in the City of Red Deer.
